The Highway Bureau held the olds Expansive Recruitment of Bus Drivers and Stable Employment Campaign to help highway public transportation companies to recruit and cultivate bus driving professionals and enhance stable employment. On September 24, a joint recruitment of bus drivers in Taipei City, New Taipei City, Keelung City, Yilan County, and other areas took place at Chunghwa Telecom Southern Taipei Service Center. The recruitment was hosted by the Director of Taipei City Motor Vehicles Office Jiang Shu-ren. Director of the Department of Railways and Highways Lin Fu-shan, Director-General of the Highway Bureau Chen Wen-rui, and Chief of Transportation Section Liang Guo Guo all attended the campaign in person. Besides, under the leadership of Chairperson of the Federation of Highway and Intercity Bus Companies in Taiwan Li Bo-wen, almost all the bus companies in Northern Taiwan attended this campaign. In addition, each Motor Vehicles Office and Training Institute also participated enthusiastically, displaying that the government and the general public stick together and are determined to promote bus industries.


A total of 20 highway and intercity bus companies joined the campaign for driver recruitment, including Metropolitan Transport Corporation, Capital Bus, Kuo-Kuang Motor Transportation Company, Ubus, Taipei Bus, Kamalan Bus, Ho Hsin Bus, SanChung Bus, HowTai Transportation, e-go, Zhongxing Daye Bus, Guanghua Bus, New Taipei Bus, Guide Passenger Co., Tamsui Motor Transport Co., Keelung Automobile Passenger Transport Co., Shin-Shin Bus, CitiAir Bus, Danan Bus, and Southeast Bus. Taipei City Employment Services Office, Taipei City Veteran’s Service Center, Da Long De Driving School, DSD Driving School, and Great Keelung Driving School were also invited to participate in this campaign.


Director Lin of the MOTC emphasized that traffic and transportation are important fundamental needs of life. Each unit will keep working hard together to fulfill all the needs for transportation through public transportation. Director-General Chen of the Highway Bureau also suggesteds that as the epidemic has begun to slow down, the Ministry of Health and Welfare has announced the reopening of the border and the return to more normal life. The Highway Bureau will do its best to help the bus companies become as prosperous as before. It is hoped that through such subsidies, it is hoped that the bus companies will recruit eligible drivers and retain talents. With Such new blood joining in,the workforce will only make the service of highway public transportation will be better.


Each bus company also released multiple bonuses and discounts at this campaign. After making inquiries and comparisons among the stands of each bus company, the general public could take and was able to interview directly and register for training courses at the driving schools or Training Institute, saving the time of commuting to the driving schools. The bus companies actively interacted actively with the interviewees at the campaign. By the end of the campaign, 350 people applied for the jobs while approximately 117 successfully matched job requirements successfully.
