The Taipei City Motor Vehicles Office, Directorate General of Highways, will soon send text messages to notify vehicle owners who have not paid their fees to do so promptly. Failure to pay outstanding fees after the reminder may result in a fine in accordance with Article 75 of the Highway Act. Unpaid fees will also be subject to administrative enforcement, which may include seizing or freezing the owner's movable and immovable assets or withholding deposits and wages.
If you are unsure whether you have paid your fees, you can inquire at your local motor vehicles office. Alternatively, you can consult the motor vehicles service website or app and pay online. You can also visit convenience stores equipped with multimedia devices for inquiries, bill reprints, and payments. Please do not click on unfamiliar website links to make payment in case of scams.
We also encourage vehicle owners to apply for electronic payment bills or set up convenient automatic annual transfers from your current account for fuel fee payments so you won't have to worry about missing payments and to save you time. You can apply online at the motor vehicles service website [https://www.mvdis.gov.tw/]. If you have any further questions, please contact the Taipei City Motor Vehicles Office (which also offers bilingual services) at (02) 2763-0155, extension 400, or fax at (02) 2761-7750.
