On December 16, 2023, Rotary Club of Taipei Zhong An organized a "Children's Traffic Safety Awareness Experience Event" at the Taipei Expo Park in Yuanshan. Taipei City Motor Vehicles Office also participated the event by setting up three checkpoints to promote traffic safety and awareness to children and parents. TCMVO also provided "Digital Mobile Motor Vehicles Automobile" services, allowing on-site processing of license renewals, cognitive function tests for the elderly, and processing of fuel utilization fee transactions.
Mr. Jiang Shu-Jen, Director of Taipei City Motor Vehicles Office, mentioned that Taiwan is facing a declining birth rate crisis. Statistics show a high proportion of accidental deaths among children under 12 were casued by traffic accidents, with 60% occurring at intersections. Therefore, TCMVO set up three checkpoints, including "Large Vehicle Blind Spot and Difference of Radius Between Inner Wheels Awareness," "Pedestrian Crossing Experience," and "3D Drunk Driving Glasses Experience," hoping to raise the awareness of road safety among children and showcase innovations in traffic safety education to the public.
In addition to the traffic safety experience activities, Taipei City Motor Vehicles Office demonstrated the versatility of the Digital Mobile Motor Vehicles Automobile. It played promotional videos at the vehicle booth, conducted a quiz on motor vehicles-related services, and offered exquisite small gifts. Children and adults were able to experience a different kind of motor vehicles services at the event.
